Biketoberfest Oct 05' ~ Daytona Beach, Florida

This years’ BIKETOBERFEST was just complete madness!  With the “possibility” of Hurricane Wilma upon us…Daytona had a 50/50 chance of really kicking this one off.  The weather held through the weekend…and the biker enthusiasts just came riding on in.  Unfortunately for the vendors…but luckily for us…the weather scared them…and most of the (out of state) vendors started packing their stuff up on Saturday Night…which meant they had to sell their stuff at cheap prices.

The ride up 92 was wonderful…we stopped in at Daytona Speedway and checked out all of the “stuff” they had going on.  I can not fathom the practice it takes to ride your bike on its front tire…I (Gabbi) would be requiring a new set of teeth at any of these attempts!

Main Street was off the hook…You would swear it was Biker Mardi Gras going on!  And if you check out the snaps from the ride…there is a woman in there behind a bar, half naked with butterfly pasties on her breasts…OMG…I absolutely swear she was smiling at me….but I digress…It was OFF THE HOOK!

14 Jan 06

Another good ride and more new friends!

Link up point was Denny’s on International Speedway and Tomoka Farms Road.  Little did we all know that the winds were going to be as blustery as they were!  We originally were going to head down A1A towards the upper part of Flagler County….but since the winds were a little crazy, that probably would not have been a good idea.  So, instead we headed inland…back towards DeLand actually, via Tomoka Farms Road, Pioneer Trail, and then onto SR 44. (New York into DeLand)

There was a little (tiny tiny) mix-up as to just where the Gator’s Dockside restaurant was located…but Tami got us there!  I guess this sort of sounds like Tami was the (tiny tiny) mix-up…but actually it was me (Gabbi)! <I can admit to my mistakes! Hee hee.>  Well I was going to lead us through DeLand to Gator’s….except there was a different restaurant  in the place of where I thought Gator’s was….This does not constitute “lost” because…when you are riding your bike…YOU ARE NEVER LOST!!!  Anyway, we all got there...was able to warm up some…grab some good conversation and meet new friends!

This ride’s members included Ohla, Bekki, Tami, and Gabbi; and also some of our new members…Marnie, Becca, and Linda…It was sooo great to meet all of you!!!!

P.S.  Crime Dog McGruff was included in this ride…because he is kewl…he looks out for all of God’s children. (The Volusia County Fire and Police Departments were having a Fire/Children’s car seat check at our starting point.)  So I had to get a picture with McGruff!

See you on our next ride!!!
